ISRAELI AMBASSADOR ABSENT FROM LIST OF ANTICIPATED GUESTS WHITE HOUSE IFTAR DINNER:

29 Jul

July 25th President Obama hosted an Iftar dinner at the White House. There were no less than attendees at the event. Ten days earlier there was an auspicious Iftar gathering that received less publicity. Michael Oren, Israel’s Ambassador to Washington DC hosted a blended dinner acknowledging both Iftar and the Jewish holiday of Tisha B’av, the Ninth day of the month of Av, a mourning day in Jewish history commemorated with fasting, as do Muslims fast for their day. One fast is celebratory; the other fast is solemn in conduct. Michale Oren illustrated by his guest list mixed with Jews and Moslems, there is a place for differences-inter-faith to come together in solidarity forming new traditions- in the good grace of a true diplomate and statesman. Oren’s guests were business leaders, media, diplomats, philanthropists, government officials, religious leaders. Obama’s anticipated guests are listed below….

Still not seeing it. Let me look a few more times to see how I missed Oren’s name on the list
