The Vatican Museum released a news bit about Renaissance master Pinturicchio who painted works of art, one of which has become a corroborative artwork of wonder- Native Americans in a painting dated 1494, touted by the Vatican as the first presentation of Native Americans to the European world. The Native Americans appear in a small corner of a Resurrection scene the Master painted, previously unseen because of centuries of soot on the frescoes that date back to two years after Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492, discovering the New World, the same year Alexander VI was elected Pope. The painting hands in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace in the Borgia Apartment used by Pope Alexander VI. Columbus had told people he was greeting by naked dancing men painted red or black. The voyage had been financed by the Spanish monarchy.
